Kinloch Wilderness Retreat
Journey into Nature
Kinloch Wilderness Retreat is seeking an experienced kayak guide to join the team for the coming season Oct 24 – April 25.
With a qualification or experience equivalent to Kayak Leader, you will be guiding guests on 1 and 2 hour ‘floating nature walks’ along the edge of Lake Whakatipu whilst providing a high degree of information and interpretation relating to the surrounding natural environment, biodiversity, Maori and Settler histories.
This is a live in, hourly paid role. We guarantee 30-40 hours work a week and if there are no kayak trips happening you will be working on grounds maintenance or other projects. Alongside kayak tours we hire e-bikes, e-motorbikes and fishing gear.
You will need a current first aid certificate. A P class endorsement is an advantage as we run guest shuttles to the Routeburn / Greenstone tracks.
We’re surrounded by big landscapes and lots of opportunities for type 2 fun when you’re not working.
Whilst Kinloch is fairly remote, theres around a dozen staff working and living on site over the summer and nearby Glenorchy has an active social scene.
