About us

Rotorua Canopy Tours offers two fully guided ziplining adventures through one of New Zealand’s few preserved ancient native forests. Our tours feature thrilling ziplines, swing bridges, and tree-based platforms that provide unique perspectives of the forest.

We’re committed to environmental preservation, actively working to restore the forest and protect native species by removing pests, creating a positive impact on the ecosystem. We educate visitors about the forest’s ecology and the importance of conservation.

Qualifications & experience

• Full NZ Drivers License (held for 2+ years) with Passenger Endorsement (or able to get one)
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to get one prior to starting)
• The ideal candidate will be used to working or playing in the outdoors in varying weather
• Outdoor qualifications are looked on favorably

Tasks & responsibilities

• Equipment checks and preparing tour equipment ready for the guests before arrival.
• Warmly welcoming and engaging with our guests, conducting safety briefings and gearing up clients in our provided PPE ready for their adventure.
• Pickups and Drop offs around Rotorua CBD and driving to and from the activity location.
• Expertly guiding tours within RCT’s operational areas and conducting dynamic risk and hazard identification throughout the experience to maintain safety of our team and guests at all times. Upon completion of the tour farewelling guests and uploading photos of their experience.
• Strictly adhering to all safety procedures and policies and delivering with your own spin but in a professional way the interpretation throughout the experience.
• Facilitating multiple zipline experiences in a day each ranging from 3 hours to 3.75 hours per trip
• Cleaning, Drying and Maintaining the Rotorua Canopy Tours HQ, Equipment, Fleet and Course Structures/Trails
• Completing essential documentation when required including recording near misses, incidents or new hazards.
• Get stuck into our conservation projects which includes trail maintenance, trapping of pests using various methods of trapping, monitoring of pests and rare, unique species.
