Lead Guide – Zipline Tours

Permanent, Ongoing, Full Time, Minimum Guaranteed 32 Hours/week.

Man O’ War Vineyards is looking for a passionate adventure tourism guide to join our zipline team to guide tours through the magnificent Kauri forest overlooking Man O War Bay.

The right candidate will have significant technical and operational experience in zipline or canopy tours and expertise in leading small teams. They must be able to demonstrate sound levels of health and safety knowledge with the capability of providing a high standard of safety and exceptional experience for our zipline customers.

The successful candidate must hold a Class 1 NZ drivers license with P endorsement (or the ability to get one with support)

Preference will be given to those candidates who have permanent working rights in NZ, and who are committed to long term employment.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 3+ years guiding in the Adventure Tourism Industry with industry relevant rope handling and rescue skills. Zipline or High Rope skills preferred.
• Outdoor First Aid Course or ability to get one.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Leading a professional, safe, informative, fun, and exceptional experience for all our zipline guests
• Leading tours through our newly built zipline at Man O’ War Bay, with a strong focus on safety standards
• In collaboration with the Operations Manager you will assist with the recruitment and leading training of new guides
• Providing day to day support to the Operations Manager – Tourism within the Adventure Tourism Centre.
• Assist with the maintenance, security, and repair of equipment
• Ability to work unsupervised and promote an excellent team working environment
• Must have the flexibility to work hour and days to meet operational and seasonal variations and demands.
• Manage the service in the absence of Operations Manager. This is a 2 IC role.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a NZ Citizen, or have a resident visa
• Will be required to relocate to Waiheke Island
• Will require your own car/transport

The Zipline will operate during the peak season 7 days/week to align with our Hospitality and Events busy periods.

Rostered days of work, and start and finish times, can vary depending on work variability and business, tourism and seasonal demands. Hours of work will generally be between 08:00 and 6:00pm on a rotating roster.

Short term Hostel accommodation is available on site for staff.
