Skipper and Tour Guide Full Time NEW

Franz Josef Wilderness Tours is a family run tourism company operating unique nature based experiences in the Franz Josef Glacier region. We offer a selection of kayak tours, boat tours and also off-road quad bikes adventures. We are looking for a confident and personable Skipper / Guide to join our team, with flexible start dates available anytime from now through to November 2026.

This is more than just a skipper role. While operating our scenic cruise vessel, you’ll also be hosting guests, sharing stories about the local area, spotting wildlife, and helping create memorable experiences on the water. It’s an active, social and rewarding role for someone who enjoys both boating and working with people.

About the role

Your day will include:

• Safely operating our scenic cruise vessel
• Transporting passengers to and from shore
• Loading and unloading equipment and cargo
• Launching and retrieving the vessel each day
• Cleaning, fuelling and carrying out basic maintenance
• Hosting guests and providing engaging commentary about the local environment, history and wildlife
• Delivering friendly, professional customer service at all times

What we’re looking for

Applicants must have:

• Skipper Restricted Limits (SRL)
• A current first aid certificate
• A full driver’s licence (or overseas equivalent)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Confidence speaking to groups and creating a fun guest experience
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a small team
