Tour Guide – Biking and Hiking Part Time NEW

Adventure South NZ is a Christchurch based adventure tourism company operating guided cycling, hiking, and adventure itineraries throughout New Zealand for more than 30 years. We are experiencing growth and we need to grow our awesome guiding team.

We are on the hunt for hosts committed to help guests have great experiences, connecting with people and the amazing landscapes we travel through.  We’re looking for guides to lead guests on our active adventures.

Do you have Qualifications and more than one-years experience with the following?

• Passenger and Class 2 Driving Licenses, or ability to get one.
• Outdoor First Aid Qualification.
• Guiding & hosting guests in dynamic and sometimes isolated outdoor environments – including bike and hike trails.
• Providing leadership, including organisational and communication skills.
• Technical skills including safety and bike mechanic to support trips on remote trails.
• Providing engaging interpretation of nature, culture and history to guests.

We offer great training and support, a strong guiding culture, and an opportunity to work with interesting guests from New Zealand and overseas.

Great guides make for great trips. Adventure South NZ guides are the face of the company and carry a large amount of responsibility.  Our guides work long days and each day you’ll need to be ready for different challenges that come your way. Our season runs from October through to April. Each trip you can expect to be away from home for a week or longer.

We employ people from all walks of life; however, we prefer those who are looking at adventure tourism with a longer-term view. We are committed to sustainable adventure travel. We are proud of the feedback we receive from our guests, and our high number of returning guests.

All applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and have the ability to start/ finish tours in Christchurch. Pay rate $27-$35 per hour. Min 30 hours per week. Start September 30, 2025.
