Lead Kayak Tour Guide- Tauranga/Rotorua Positions Contract NEW

You are the person responsible for operating and leading Waimarino Kayak Tours product offerings including Kayak and Big Kanu Tours. As a partof this role you will also need to lead School Programmes, and assist in the Waimarino Adventure Park as required. The key purpose of this role is to ensure ALL Waimarino Group customers have a fantastic and safe experience with Waimarino Group

MUST BE AVAILABLE SEPT/OCT- APRIL Pre requisites: Valid First Aid Certificate Current full driving license with the ability to gain a P Endorsement or Class 2 Licence(preferred) Ability to drive manual and drive and reverse trailers (preferred) Significant work experience in a Kayak Guide position Significant personal experience either Sea Kayaking or White Water Kayaking Relevant Kayaking or Tourism Qualifications preferred Must pass pre employment Police Vetting

All tours offered by Waimarino Kayak Tours including custom itineraries

• Preparing all catering & equipment for tours.
• Driving our customers & kayak trailer to and from tour departure site
• Facilitating a professional, safe & enjoyable tour
• Unpacking, cleaning, fixing, putting away all equipment
• Tidy and clean tour vehicles
• Leading by example for all guides

All School Programmes offered by Waimarino Education Trust including custom itineraries

• Kayak instruction and supervision, launching and re-stowing of kayaks.
• Climbing instruction and supervision.
• Adventure park activities instruction and supervision.
• Wairoa River Tour (WRT) & Wairoa River Hop (WRH) Guiding.
• Facilitating or assisting in the facilitation of specialised courses. I.e.-team building, sea kayak courses, white water courses, etc.
• Facilitating Group Function requirements.
• Start up, and close down routines I.e. rubbish emptying, toilet cleaning.

Park Duties / Maintenance

• Duties to include but not limited to the following –
• Start up and close down routines.
• Assisting with the routine cleaning & maintenance of the Adventure Park, and Adventure Park activities as required.
• Assisting with the routine maintenance of kayak and climbing equipment as required.
