Driver & Zipline Guide Casual Contract NEW

EcoZip Adventures (Kaikōura) is looking for friendly, safety-focused Driver & Zipline Guides to join our team. You’ll be the first and last EcoZip face many guests meet, responsible for safe customer transfers, vehicle preparation and upkeep, assisting with zipline operations and providing engaging, accurate commentary about the local environment and conservation work.

Key responsibilities

• Safely drive shuttle and off-road vehicles (including a Unimog!) to transport customers between the West End shop, and Rakanui Station.
• Prepare vehicles, equipment, platforms and tracks each day and complete pre-op checks.
• Operate zipline tours to SOPs and safety regulations; assist with harnessing, gear checks and client briefings.
• Lead short bush walks, give informative and entertaining commentary about local history, ecology and conservation.
• Maintain vehicles, perform daily checks and report faults, assist with general site maintenance as needed.
• Support conservation tasks (weed control, predator trapping, feeding station upkeep) when required.
• Complete required logs, registers and safety reporting in a timely manner.

Skills, qualifications & experience

• Eligible to work in NZ.
• Valid Class 1 (shuttle) and Class 2 (off-road) driver licences preferred.
• Current passenger endorsement required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; confident engaging groups of people.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
• First Aid Certification.
• Previous tourism, driving or outdoor guiding experience advantageous.

Training & compliance

EcoZip will provide induction training including EcoZip Emergency & Rescue Basics and Safety Management training. Ongoing assessment and regular safety training is required.
All staff are subject to our alcohol & drug testing policy.

Hours & pay

Job type: Casual/Contract. Hours across operations typical range 20–40 hours per week.
Competitive hourly rate (discussed at interview) + paid training provided.
