R&R Kayaks is seeking an enthusiastic Operations Manager to lead our team through the upcoming summer season in the stunning Abel Tasman National Park.

This is a fixed-term role with an immediate start and a flexible end date (ideally April). We offer competitive pay, based on experience and performance.
About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and organised person to oversee the day-to-day operations of our business. Key responsibilities include:
– Coordinating and managing bookings
– Overseeing safety management systems
– Supervising, training, and supporting staff
– Managing gear, vehicles, and logistics
– Ensuring smooth daily operations and outstanding customer experiences

We’re a family-owned business based in Mārahau, the gateway to the Abel Tasman. R&R Kayaks offers guided half-day and full-day tours as well as kayak rentals, showcasing spectacular beaches, islands, seals, and birdlife. We pride ourselves on quality, safety, and fun—ensuring every guest leaves with unforgettable memories.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
– Proven management experience
– NZOIA Sea Kayak 1 (or overseas equivalent)
– Strong sea kayaking experience
– Full, clean NZ driver’s licence with passenger endorsement
– Current first aid certificate
– In-depth knowledge of safety management in adventure tourism
– Excellent customer service and communication skills
– Ability to train, supervise, and motivate a close-knit team
– Strong work ethic and reliability
– NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
