Experienced Lead Sea Kayak Guide Casual NEW

Wanted -Lead kayak guides for busy New Zealand summer season – We need 3 guides, one starting in September, One starting in October and the third in mid December

As our season comes to a close we are starting our annual search for amazing sea kayak guides with positive “CAN DO” attitudes to kick off our next season. If you can answer yes to most of the list below get in contact.

We also have an Ebike tours business so if you have any bike mechanical skills that would be a huge plus as you would be also able to work in our bike business with maintenance, tours and rentals. Not essential- just beneficial!

Have been a Kayak lead guide for minimum 2 seasons

Have a Nz working holiday visa
Work on call and a schedule
Drive and confidently reverse a long trailer
Great at communicating and fast responses to tour bookings via phone messages
Clean and respectful with regards to looking after work vehicles and equipment
Great attitude towards management and other team members, someone who makes our life easier not harder!
Friendly and reliable and easy for us operators to deal with.
Great references
Bike mechanical skills
Current first aid

Willing to do own research to create tour content and memorise our specific safety briefing which you will need to show us on a quick video before starting.

Good Common sense & problem solving skills

Punctual and self motivated when working solo

Have Sea kayak Qualifications and can confidentially tow, and execute double, single and self rescues.

Physically strong enough to lift double kayaks as you will be loading and unloading the trailer alone at times.

We love to have a positive and happy work team and environment where everyone is head down and working hard in the busy time, and plenty of leisure times in the quieter months.

Akaroa is one of the best sea kayaking destinations in New Zealand, activities on your days off can include, sailing, golf, rugby, surfing, hiking, fishing, climbing, and anything water related! All previous guides have loved their time here.
