Outdoor Education Instructor
Full-time, fixed-term – 5th February 2025 to 7th June 2025 (exact dates TBC)

Riccarton High School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated outdoor instructor to assist with running our junior outdoor education programme. This involves regular camps at our Orohaki facility in North Canterbury. You will be living onsite during the week and running a variety of outdoor activities as part of a tight-knit team.

This role includes assisting with the planning and co-ordination of camp activities, leading groups of students in the outdoors as well as some equipment maintenance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive individual who enjoys outdoor adventure and relates well with young people across a variety of ethnic backgrounds. You will need to be able to work well as a team but be flexible and independent where required.

Successful applicants will also be able to demonstrate:

• Current first aid certification
  Experience working with children/teenagers
  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  Experience with overnight tramping, canyoning, river skills, biking, archery, low ropes and/or ABL activities would be a bonus.
  An outdoor education qualification is preferred.
