The basic function of the Senior Guide is to conduct safe and confidence inspiring tours. The Senior Guide is there to support the Course Supervisors in the smooth running of daily operations, training and coaching guides as well as assisting with non – routine and emergency situations and assisting with course maintenance as required.

• Assist the Course Supervisors with the daily course operations including assisting Tour Guides with retrievals, deck support and other duties as requested.
• Act as assistant trainer to the Course Supervisors for the Guide Training Program
• Act as a liaison between Course Supervisors and Tour Guides to convey and provide information about course issues, policy, procedure and safety.
• Lead by example, providing excellent customer service and following all procedures and protocols.
• Determine areas for improvement, communicate the areas for development and find effective means and methods to develop the trainees Tour Guide skills.

What you will be able to bring to the role:

• 1+ years relevant guiding experience at heights, Ideally with at least 1 season in a Zipling company.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor less experienced employees
• Proven understanding of health and safety risk management especially at heights and in an outdoor environment
• Physically active with the ability to lift 28 kgs
• Adherence to and understanding of all policies and procedures; supporting safety as the number one priority
• 16 hour First Aid Certificate
• Experienced in front line sales. (This position will do some Guest Services shifts as the business requires)

The positions are full-time (30+ hours per week) and permanent. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to the role for a minimum of 2 years and is looking to grow their career with Ziptrek Ecotours
