Cycle Tour Business – Operations Manager Full Time NEW

Love bikes, people, logistics and making busy days run beautifully? We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to help keep the wheels turning at Tākaro Trails Cycle Tours.

This is a key role leading the delivery of our cycle tours, including cruise ship excursions, multi-day adventures, private rides, bike hire, fleet logistics and our hub operations.

You’ll be part organiser, part problem-solver, part team leader and occasionally part “can-do legend” when the day needs it. One moment you might be coordinating bikes, vans, rosters and luggage transfers; the next you may be helping customers, driving a support vehicle, guiding a ride or sorting a bike issue.

You’ll support our drivers, guides, mechanics and hub staff to deliver safe, smooth and memorable experiences and be a key part of our leadership team. MUST be a team player.

We’re looking for someone practical, calm, organised and great with people. Tourism, logistics, outdoor recreation or operations experience would be ideal. A full clean driver’s licence is essential.

Full-time role with weekend and public holiday work essential plus peak-season flexibility.

What you’ll bring:

• A full driver’s licence (current for more than 2 years) with the ability to gain a Passenger License
• Confident driver able to drive a 12 seater van with passengers and towing trailer
• Great people skills – you enjoy a chat and know how to make customers feel welcome and looked after
• A decent level of fitness – bikes don’t move themselves, loading on and off trailers is a must
• The ability to work on-site in Hawke’s Bay
• Flexibility and reliability, including weekends (absolutely essential)
• Bike Mechanic ability a bonus only basic skills are needed here
• Experience in tourism, outdoor work, or similar is essential
• Ability to work well as a team member (essential)
