About you

You are an experienced Parachute Packer who is ready to take on more responsibilities and progress within the Skydiving Industry. You’re an energetic team player, with a can-do attitude, and will enjoy teaching others.

You will:

• Be actively fit (this role is physically demanding)
• Have the ability to teach others the skillful art of Parachute Packing
• Be highly self-motivated and a team player
• Have administration skills and be competent using a computer
• Work well under pressure and can multi-task
• Be safety conscious and has exceptional attention to detail
• Communicate well with a diverse team
• Previous experience supervising a small team would be desirable.

About the role

Join a leading adventure tourism company with multiple drop zones across Australia and New Zealand!

As Head Parachute Packer you will lead our parachute packing teams across our New Zealand operations. Based at our flagship drop zone, NZONE Skydive in Queenstown, you’ll also provide oversight and support to our Wanaka Drop Zone, with regular travel between locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Recruiting, training and supervising the parachute packing team across all NZ drop zones
• Managing, scheduling and rostering of the parachute packing team
• Packing Tandem Parachutes to company and manufacturers standards with a high regard for safety
• Inspecting and replacing parachute components as necessary
• Reporting defects and/or maintenance required on equipment
• Actively seeking and identifying any equipment that you believe is in need of repair in any way
• Maintaining accurate records of all rigs packed and assist with system reconciliations
• Assisting with drop zone ground duties including gardening, mowing and maintenance
• Being 7 days a week operation the ability to work weekends, public holidays and longer hours during the peak summer season is required.

During our peak summer season, you could be packing between 4 – 6 parachutes per hour.

Please note: You may be required at times to work more than 30 hours per week and in compliance with the CAA Part 115 Rules and Regulations – duty and time limitation.

Due to this role being a safety sensitive position and in safety sensitive location, we do require a pre-commencement drug and alcohol test before starting employment.
